OGDEN -- A man was transported to the hospital Thursday with serious injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Ogden Police Lt. Tony Fox said the man, who was in his mid-20s, was riding a motorcycle north on the inside lane of Washington Boulevard around 8:10 p.m. A man in his early 20s didn't see the motorcycle and turned his Ford truck left out of Dan Street from Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College. The motorcycle skidded for several yards and hit the truck.
The man riding the motorcycle suffered a severed leg above the knee, Fox said, and was taken to McKay Dee Hospital. The extent of any internal injuries was not known.
Multiple witnesses to the accident were shaken up and declined to comment.
The names of those involved were not released. Fox said the investigation is ongoing, but the driver of the truck will likely be cited for failure to yield.
