FARMINGTON -- The preliminary hearing for Nathanael Sloop, who is accused of killing 4-year-old Ethan Stacy, moves into its fourth and possibly last day Friday in 2nd District Court in Farmington.

Sloop, 34, of Layton and his wife, Stephanie Sloop, are both charged with aggravated murder, second-degree felony child abuse, second-degree felony obstruction of justice and third degree felony abuse or desecration of a body in the death of Ethan, Stephanie Sloop's son. Both Sloops are being held in Davis County Jail with no bail.

Ethan's disfigured body was found buried near Powder Mountain on May 11, 2010. Authorities said the boy died May 9, 2010.

The hearing begins at 8 a.m., and according to a court decorum order issued by the judge, everyone needs to be in their seats five minutes before the hearing begins.

The preliminary hearing for Nathan Sloop began March 27. Prosecutors needed an additional day, so the judge continued it until Friday.

Stephanie Sloop's attorney is waiting until the preliminary hearings for Nathan Sloop are completed before moving forward on her client's case.
