LAYTON -- The Warriors control their own destiny.
Sure, there is still a lot soccer left to play this season, but defending Region 1 champion Weber improved to 4-0-0 in league play on Thursday, with all the other teams in the super-competitive league each with two losses.
Weber's heart-stopping 1-0 win over Layton shows just how tough the league is, and will be over the final month of play.
"We lost a couple of players this week to injuries, but the whole team stepped up," Weber coach Jan Swift said.
The Warriors scored in the 35th minute when Jaden Bybee scored on a corner kick from Zach Dixon.
Both teams had a few decent scoring chances but the defenses reigned supreme.
Cody Albrechtsen earned the shutout in goal for Weber, while Jayce Call and Dixon piloted a strong defense.
