Payson has become a hub for rodeo in Utah the past dozen years, and community leaders want to make it permanent.
Organizers are seeking donations to facilitate the purchase of a bronze statue and other memorabilia to honor local world champion rodeo cowboys Lewis Feild, Kaycee Feild and Wesley Silcox with an exhibit in the Western Room of the Peteetneet Museum.
Donations may be made on the town website (www.paysonutah.org).
In the future, Payson plans to stage a public event to recognize the achievements of the trio of world champions and Troy Lerwill, a six-time PRCA comedy act of the year and three-time Wrangler NFR barrelman.
