AMERICAN FORK-- A 25-year-old Spanish Fork man has been ordered to stand trial for murder in a fatal stabbing at a house party in Payson last July 4.
Keenan Thompson could spend life in prison if convicted of the slaying of 36-year-old William K.C. Wright.
The Daily Herald in Provo reports (http://tinyurl.com/bcz8s5t ) 4th District Judge Thomas Low ruled Thursday there was enough evidence in three days of preliminary hearings to bound him over for trial.
Police say Wright was stabbed twice after refusing to allow Thompson's 15-year-old cousin to attend the drinking party at his home.
Thompson has claimed self-defense. He's pleaded not guilty to murder, obstructing justice, possession of a firearm by a restricted person and possession or use of a controlled substance.
A status hearing is set for July 23.
