COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS -- A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Cottonwood Heights on suspicion of driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level nearly five times the legal limit.
Police told KSL that Kevin Johnston's blood alcohol level was .36, and that could have been fatal.
Police say the suspect got out of his car after it stalled Friday night on Creek Road.
Witnesses told police that after he exited the car, the suspect fell face first on the roadway and knocked himself unconscious.
Johnston is accused of striking something with his car earlier, blowing out both passenger-side tires.
Investigators say he has three prior DUI convictions, and he was treated at the hospital for facial injuries.
He also was arrested on a charge of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute.
