To celebrate her 90th birthday, Betty R. Johnson Hart will be honored by family and friends at an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 21, at her home in Syracuse.
Born in Salt Lake City on April 22, 1923, to Holmes Ray Johnson and Stella Strong, she graduated from American Fork High School. It was there that she met her high school sweetheart Shirley W. Hart. They were married June 18, 1941, in Alpine. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple; they were married 69 years before he died in 2010.
Their five sons are Roger Hart, Ronnie Hart, Shirl Hart, Jeffrey Hart and Martin Hart. She also has 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
She has enjoyed singing and performing throughout her life. An artist, she has won best of show numerous times with her artwork. In addition, she enjoys making dolls, stuffed rabbits and quilts. Family and friends have been recipients of her creations.
