SALT LAKE CITY -- A Utah man has been charged with making terrorist threats after he says he was joking about a bomb threat at last weekend's Salt Lake City Marathon.
KTVX-TV reports the Salt Lake District Attorney filed the second-degree felony charges Monday against 59-year-old George Zinn of Salt Lake City.
Police say Zinn sent an email to the SLC Marathon Marketing group requesting to place bombs at the marathon's finish line. They say he has a history of interfering with police activities.
The threat came just days after the Boston Marathon explosions that left three dead and more than a hundred injured.
Zinn is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
