OGDEN -- Two workshops are being offered in May at Cottages of Hope, 2724 Washington Blvd. in Ogden.
* A free Budget 101 workshop will be taught from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday in May, with a focus on helping individuals create their first budget and financial tracking system. The workshop also covers the emotional side of money, personal values, financial goals and organizing your financial life. Certificates are awarded to participants to substantiate their attendance.
Enrollment is not required. Walk-ins are welcome.
* A free four-part series that covers the basics of good money management skills and satisfies the financial literacy requirement for the Individual Development Account matched savings program will be offered from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday nights throughout May.
Topics include the emotional side of money, personal values, financial goals, organizing your financial life, creating your first budget and tracking system, saving strategies, understanding your credit history, using credit wisely, investing terms, preventing identity theft, and knowing you are properly insured.
