The Seattle Seahawks liked their last pair of Aggies so much they added another on Saturday night.
Former Utah State wide receiver Matt Austin signed a free agent contract with the Seahawks, it was announced Saturday a few hours after the NFL draft.
Austin will join former Aggie teammates in linebacker Bobby Wagner and running back Robert Turbin on the Seahawks roster. Wagner was drafted in the second round (47th pick) of the 2012 NFL Draft by Seattle and Turbin was drafted in the fourth round (106th pick) of the 2012 draft by the Seahawks.
Wagner was the runner-up for defensive rookie of the year last season in the NFL.
Austin is one of five USU football players from the 2012 Western Athletic Conference championship team to move on to the NFL as cornerback Will Davis was drafted by Miami Dolphins in the third round (93rd pick), and running back Kerwynn Williams was drafted by Indianapolis in the seventh round (230th pick).
Austin, a 6-2, 202-pounder from Monrovia, Calif., earned second-team all-WAC honors in 2012 as he finished the season leading Utah State in receptions (48) and receiving yards (729), and tying for first with five receiving touchdowns.
Later, USU defensive lineman Al Lapuaho signed with the St. Louis Rams, while receiver Chuck Jacobs inked with the San Francisco 49ers.
Six BYU football players from the 2012 team have confirmed free-agent agreements with NFL teams since the draft concluded.
