Kathleen Deis Thompson of North Ogden celebrated her 80th birthday on Friday. She was honored with a surprise party hosted by her family on Saturday.
The youngest of three, she was born April 26, 1933, to Louis and Hazel Moyes Deis. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. She married her eternal partner Richard Thompson. They raised five children. They enjoyed sharing the same birthday, travel, camping, and especially spending time with family. He died in 2002.
Their children and spouses are Kathy and Dick (deceased) Chatterton, Debbie and Mike Checketts, Janna and Danyl Marble, Doug and Virginia Thompson, and Steve Thompson. She has 20 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Her brothers and their wives are Don and Dolores Deis, Ogden; and Lou and Nancy Deis, Texas.
She enjoys helping others and spending time with her four-legged companions. She is known by family and friends as being a terrific seamstress and “handy-woman” who can fix about anything.STORY:201304290042Kathleen Thompson/Announcements/2013/04/29/Kathleen-Thompson.html-1
