WEST HAVEN -- A Clearfield High School teacher has been charged with raping a student.
Gaile Kristine Supp, 24, is accused of inviting the 17-year-old female student to Supp's West Haven home Jan. 5 to do homework, then showing her a sexually explicit film and sexually abusing her, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday in 2nd District Court in Ogden. The accuser told police she made it clear to Supp she wasn't comfortable with the sexual advances.
Police were first alerted to the accusations Jan. 15 and found evidence supporting the accusations in a search of Supp's home, according to the affidavit.
Court documents show Supp was arrested Friday and booked into Weber County Jail, where Monday she posted $20,000 bail and was released. She has been charged with object rape, a first-degree felony. Her initial appearance in court is scheduled for May 8.
Supp was on a one-year teaching contract with Clearfield High, said Davis County School District spokeswoman Shauna Lund. Supp was placed on administrative leave in mid-January, when the school was notified of the allegations.
