SYRACUSE -- A 34-year-old woman was transported by helicopter to McKay- Dee Hospital in Ogden on Thursday after she crashed her vehicle into a power pole.

Syracuse Police Lt. Heath Rogers said the woman was driving her green Ford Expedition east on 1700 South around 5 p.m. when she hit the pole, near 2329 West. A medical condition appears to have caused the crash.

A 10-year-old girl was also in the vehicle, Rogers said, and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The exact nature of the injuries to the woman and the girl, whose names were not available, was undisclosed.

Power was shut off to approximately 41 customers around 5:45 p.m., as crews repaired the pole, said Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Jeff Hymas. Power was expected to be restored around 11 p.m.
