Big man in a suit of armor. Take that off, what are you?
This was the question that was posed by last Marvel movie. This is the movie with the answer to that specific question.
Now I hope that you have already caught on that the suit of armor is, of course, the "Iron Man" suit. The question is what really would become of Tony Stark if he didn't have his precious suit? Well, if you were to go see the new "Iron Man 3," then that question would be resolved.
However, it isn't answered quickly. Rather you see the ego of the man himself, Tony Stark -- portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. -- continuing to evolve. And who doesn't enjoy the presence and charisma that he brings to the table? His slick comments are smooth and hilarious as ever.
Back to the ranch, or should I say, to the shop. Now from here on we'll talk about spoilers, sneak peeks, glimpses -- whatever you'd like to call it. You've been warned. But now that I've gotten that out of the way, I can attempt to visualize the spectacular that is "Iron Man 3."
First off, the beginning of this next film in the "Iron Man" series, with new director Shane Black, reaches back into the darker times of the life of Tony Stark. The times similar to how we found him back in the beginning of "Iron Man." Back when life was a party and he was the man throwing it. He didn't care who he hurt and didn't care if it came back to bite him. That's enough said on the beginning; I don't want to totally ruin the experience for you.
Second, the middle: Tony Stark is getting worked. He is going round for round with this guy, The Mandarin (Sir Ben Kingsley). The problem is Tony can't get a break, but The Mandarin hasn't even broken a sweat. This, of course, is when unexpected help arrives, and funnily enough, it comes in a small, yet sarcastic package. Again, let's not give away too much -- let's just say they have a "connection."
Finally, the end, the moment you know is coming but the question is how are they going to wrap it up? I'd hate to give that away but I will say this: Expected explosions, quick reflexes, heart-pounding split seconds, and, of course, Tony Stark's clever wit.
My opinion on "Iron Man 3" is this: We have seen plenty of what the suit can do, now we get to see what Tony Stark can do. I am excited about how they now will approach future Marvel movies with Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.
Now I know I haven't given you tons of details on this film but that's the point. Just get out to the movie theater and enjoy what Marvel does best -- surprise us, with a dash of humor.
