LaVerne M. Rennemeyer of Brigham City celebrated her 80th birthday with family and friends at a reception held in her honor at the senior center in Brigham City on May 4.
She was born on May 1, 1953, in Clarkson, Neb., to Emil and Adella Kunhart. She grew up on the family farm in Hein, Neb., and graduated from Howells High School.
She married Melvin J. Rennemeyer on Aug. 16, 1951, in Howells in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
In 1961, she moved to Brigham City with her husband and their children when he accepted employment at Thiokol Corp. She was a stay-at-home mother, raising their five children.
Her children and their spouses are Keith and Rhonda Rennemeyer, Perry; Wayne and Verlaine Rennemeyer, Brigham City; Kristin and Rick Walker, Ogden; Jay and Eleanor Rennemeyer, Ogden; and Melissa and Jim Hampton, Brigham City.
She has 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with four on the way.
