SALT LAKE CITY -- A Utah man has been charged in the death of a 75-year-old woman.
That woman died in April after a car backing out of a steep driveway overtook her.
A district court judge Monday charged the 59-year-old Dan L. Eining with criminal negligent homicide.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Eining faces up to a year in jail for the death of Cottonwood Heights woman Sheralyn Quinney.
Quinney was walking with her husband when the car forced her down and she hit her head on concrete.
Paramedics took her to the hospital and she later died from injuries related to the crash. Her 75-year-old husband was unharmed.
The driver said he did not see the couple until it was too late.
Eining was released from jail on $2,500 bail.
