OGDEN -- A 27-year-old man already facing charges after police said he admitted to having sex with an underage girl has been charged with three additional felonies. Court documents filed Thursday in 2nd District Court in Ogden show Luis Alberto Salguero has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; enticing a minor over the Internet, a third-degree felony; and dealing in materials harmful to minors, a third-degree felony.
Police originally arrested Salguero on Feb. 26 and said he used the website "meetme.com" to talk with underage girls in the area while posing as a 15- or 17-year-old. A probable cause affidavit from that arrest stated he admitted to police to having sex with a 15-year-old girl in Roy.
Following that arrest, Salguero was charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor and enticing a minor on the Internet, both third-degree felonies.
Roy Police Chief Greg Whinham said the new charges are related to that arrest and came about after additional criminal activity was found on his computer and cellphone.
In March, Salguero was also charged in 3rd District Court in Salt Lake City with a third-degree felony count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor after he allegedly had sex with another 15-year-old girl he met on the Internet.
Salguero is stationed in Honolulu with the U.S. Air Force and came to Utah in early February to visit family. At the time of his arrest, Roy police said Salguero was also being investigated in Honolulu for the possibility of additional crimes in Hawaii.
Salguero's initial appearance in court for the newest charges, as well as a disposition hearing for the original charges filed in Ogden, is scheduled for Tuesday. A preliminary hearing for the charge filed in Salt Lake City is set for June 11.
