Janet Jones Little of Sunset will celebrate her 80th birthday. Family and friends may attend an open house in her honor from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 18 at the Sunset 3rd Ward building, 338 W. 1800 North. No gifts.
She was born May 17, 1933, to Stanley Jones and Esther Janet Maycock Jones in Salt Lake City. She was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1951.
She married Robert K. Little on June 22, 1957. They were later divorced.
Her sons are Danny R. Little, Montek Little and Scott S. Little.
Her grandchildren are Terrin Little and Jolynn Thomson. Her great-grandchild is Danielle Rose Little. She has been a foster grandparent for seven years.
She retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1998.
She has volunteered in the schools, helping children read and learn math for the past 15 years. She says that she hopes to be there much longer. She has held many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a teacher, served in the Relief Society presidency, was Primary president, and now works in the library.
She enjoys quilting, crocheting and makes fudge Easter eggs, which she shares with many of her friends and family each year.
