OGDEN -- Ogden Police have arrested four suspects involved in a foiled kidnapping attempt late Friday night.
Dewayne Broderick Dumas Sr., 44, Alisha Michelle Sandoval, 37, Shannon Marie Rose, 22, and Steven Malcom Beazer, 21, were all arrested and booked into the Weber County Jail on 2nd degree felony kidnapping charges. Misdemeanor assault charges were also filed in the case.
According to Ogden Police Lt. Chad Ledford, the four suspects and a female victim were all traveling together in the same car along Quincy Avenue in Ogden on the evening of May 17, at about 10:30 p.m.
At some point during the ride, an argument began between the victim and the four suspects.
"Threats were made to the victim and she thought her safety could be compromised," Ledford said.
The group drove to a house located on the 2000 block of Quincy Avenue. The tried to force the victim into the home there, Ledford said.
As the victim was being taken from the car into the house, she began screaming for help, which alerted nearby residents in the neighborhood. After hearing the commotion, several residents called 9-1-1 and Ogden Police arrived on the scene soon thereafter.
Ledford said that after about 15 minutes of negotiation, police entered the house and arrested the four suspects.
While inside the house, police say suspects threatened to murder and sexually assault the victim.
"Regardless of the relationship or what precipitated the argument, there's no excuse for what happened to this women," Ledford said. "If she hadn't caused a ruckus and alerted the neighbors, she could have been seriously hurt."
As of Monday morning, the suspects remained in the Weber County Jail with required bond amounts of $10,000.
