Did people see the May 6 article, "Residents urged to limit watering to twice a week"? We can only water twice a week for a half-hour? As the weather warms up, I have to increase beyond that. Right now I am watering three times a week and it looks like it is stressed, so I was going to four. What am I doing wrong? What the water officials do not realize, is that there are many things involved. Flow per area is the most determining factor.
Let me try and understand this. We have been running out of water for about 30-some years and yet the governor is going to waste our dime and go out and invite more businesses to town. He should be telling people how bad it is here in Utah, so that they will stay away. We have enough people here now. They should be down playing the state and sending people away.
Have anyone driven our streets lately? We have too many people as it is. And, we do not need any more pollution. Less people, less pollution. So we will have some water and keep our lifestyles. These water limits are a way to scare us so that they can raise our water rates.
We don't want to become like California, with higher taxes, threatened bankruptcy and fewer morals. We are corrupt enough, now.
I called the Davis and Weber Counties Canal Company. They also said that they were going to enforce the rule this year.
Can you believe that we have these people in control of our water, people that don't understand watering? People who don't know that flooding for a half an hour is different than just sprinkling? Watering is based on flow per minute per area, plus the type and condition of the dirt and grass.
I see I will be alright by removing all my sprinkler heads and flood irrigating.
What is the true story about our water? Maybe I am wrong and we have all the water we need.
