OGDEN -- A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for setting fire to an LDS Church chapel located at 1590 13th Street.
Special Agent in Charge Andrew L. Traver, of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Denver Field Division, and Ogden Police Chief Mike Ashment announced the reward Tuesday.
Sometime during the evening hours of May 5 several incendiary devices were thrown through a window in the kitchen area of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel. The fire was contained to the kitchen.
"ATF and the Ogden Police Department are committed to solving this crime, and we are asking the community to come forward with information that could help identify those responsible for this senseless act," Traver said in a press release.
The incident is being investigated by the ATF Salt Lake City Field Office, Ogden Police Department, and Ogden City Fire Department.
