Numerous NBA and media sources have reported that Jazz assistant coach Jeff Hornacek has agreed to become the new Phoenix Suns head coach.
Hornacek has reportedly agreed to terms on a three-year contract, Arizona newspapers report. The deal could be in place by Monday morning.
Hornacek played the first six seasons of his NBA career in Phoenix, and still has a home there. He played with the Jazz for the final seven seasons of his NBA career, and has been a popular Jazz assistant since 2007.
Hornacek, 50, has interviewed for a couple of head NBA posititons this spring.
Phoenix fired Alvin Gentry in January, and replaced him with Lindsay Hunter on an interim basis for the rest of the season.
