Myers Mortuary seeks donations

OGDEN -- Myers Mortuary is inviting area residents to make donations for a beach party they are sponsoring for those serving overseas.

The mortuary is collecting items from now until June 14 when workers and volunteers will mail them to members of the military.

Organizers are collecting anything recreational or sun-related for the project. These items include beach gear, Hawaiian shirts, leis, volleyballs, soccer balls, beach balls and pumps for these items.

Water guns, balloons, hackysacks, Nerf balls, DVDs, books and magazines also are sought.

Personal items such as chapstick, sunscreen, aloe, foot powder, socks and T-shirts also are needed.

Snacks such as powdered drink mixes, freezer pops, gum in blister packs, candy, dried fruit, jerky, protein bars and peanut butter also are on the list for collections.

Drop off donations to Myers Mortuary at 845 Washington Boulevard in Ogden.
