PAYSON -- Six people are injured after a chain reaction crash in a construction zone near Payson.
Utah Highway Patrol officials say the crash happened in heavy traffic a little after 5 p.m. Monday on Interstate 15. Troopers say the crash started when traffic came to an abrupt stop and a vehicle swerved to avoid another one.
Two vehicles were unable to stop and hit other vehicles in a domino effect.
Officials say seven cars were involved and six people were taken to the hospital.
Three people were in critical condition, one was in serious condition and two had minor injuries.
The scene shut down northbound lanes for about an hour.
