SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Crews kept busy on Memorial Day with two rescues at Big Cottonwood Canyon.
KSL reports a 20-year-old woman was climbing with friends in the Storm Mountain area Monday when her rope slipped and she fell about 15 feet.
The woman's brother, Ryan Jones, says his sister is an experienced climber, but he thinks the rope they were using was too short.
She was taken to the hospital by ambulance after a nearly two-hour rescue.
Traffic from the first rescue operation prompted a second one.
The station reports a father and son decided to take a hike during the delay. The 14-year-old boy got stuck on a cliff, and rescue crews were called to lower him 200 feet to safety.
