FARR WEST — A 40-year-old Harrisville man was seriously injured Sunday when his motorcycle slammed into a Dodge Durango attempting a U-turn.

Weber County Sheriff’s Cpl. Tyler Greenhalgh said Christopher Sly was driving a motorcycle east on 1800 North near the 1900 West intersection around 6 p.m. The Durango was also heading east, and it cut off Sly while trying to flip a U-turn, causing the motorcycle to T-bone the Durango. Skid marks were not found on the road, indicating Sly was going full-speed at the time of the impact.

Sly was thrown over the Durango, and suffered compound fractures to both legs, as well as possible head injuries from slamming into the Durango’s windshield, Greenhalgh said. He was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden in serious condition.

The 26-year-old man driving the Durango was unhurt. He was cited for improper U-turn.
