Master Food Preserver Class, 9 a.m.-noon on June 6, and also from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on June 18, 20, 25 and 27. A class will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on July 2 at South Ogden Junior FACS kitchens, 650 E. 5700 South, South Ogden. The course consists of six classes; two are half days and an online study. No previous experience is required, and it is designed for everyone. Cost is $20 per day for full days and $10 for half days. The cost covers canning guide book and materials. Defensive driving classes, four-hour defensive driving courses for individuals in the Ogden area, 8 a.m.-noon, two Saturdays per month; 6-10 p.m., one Tuesday per month. Drivers may complete the course for a 50-point reduction from their Utah driving record. $40 per person, or $10 for those age 55 and over who are seeking a reduction in their insurance rate. Whirlybird Helicopters Open House for United Way of Northern Utah, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., June 8, 4221 Airport Road, Ogden. Discounted Ogden City tour rides will be given for $35 and plane flight lessons for $60. Ogden High School cheerleaders will also be contributing a car wash for the cause. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to United Way. This event is held to raise funds for our community and to give awareness to Whirlybird Helicopters fight training school. Baker-Merrill Post 9 of the American Legion will hold Taco Night, 5-7 p.m., June 5, 845 W. 24th Street, Ogden. Clinton Heritage Days Hungry Games, 2:30 p.m., July 13, 1500 W. 2300 North, Clinton Civic Center Park. The games consists of a battle between participants, or tributes, to win the honor of the Hungry Games. The food drive begins May 29, and food may be dropped off at any Clinton City building.
