Duane Chris and Karla Garner Jensen of North Ogden celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with immediate family at the Maddox Ranch House Restaurant in Perry.
They were married on June 6, 1963, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
He was born on July 11, 1941, in Ogden to Duane A. Jensen and Adele McFarlane Jensen. He was educated in Ogden and graduated from Weber High School. He served an LDS mission in Australia. Throughout the years, he has worked for Hill Air Force Base, Volvo White Corp. and Levolor as a logistics/purchasing manager. His hobbies have been tennis, photography, computers, camping and enjoying the outdoor.
She was born Aug. 27, 1943, to Spencer Garner and Audrey Jensen Garner. She was educated in Ogden and also graduated from Weber High School. She spent her time nurturing her children and also worked for J&J Nursery, ZCMI and J.C. Penney. Her hobbies have been tennis, walking, hiking, gardening and photography.
Both have enjoyed attending their grandchildrens' events. They have made their homes in South Ogden, Hooper and North Carolina.
Their children and spouses are Lisa and Cameron Allen, Matthew Jensen, Amy and Corey Thornock, and Andrew and Jennifer Jensen. They have 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild (deceased).
