Ruth A. Boatwright of Roy was honored by her family for her 80th birthday at a restaurant on June 8.
She was born on June 5, 1933, in Ogden to Robert A. and Mary Mower. She graduated from Ogden High School.
She worked at Hill Air Force Base, retiring after 42 years in 1998.
She is a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and her interests are spending time with her family, reading, bowling, traveling and watching and cheering for the Brigham Young University football and basketball teams.
She married Carl E. Boatwright on June 27, 1952, in Ogden. Their vows were solemnized on June 1, 1962, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. This year, they will have enjoyed 61 years together and have traveled to many places and had many adventures along the way.
Her children and their spouses are Debbie and Bob Skeen, Clearfield; Denice and Bruce Nelson, Layton; and Eric Boatwright, Roy. She has seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.STORY:201306100047Ruth Boatwright/Announcements/2013/06/10/Ruth-Boatwright.html-1
