Tom and Sheron Bitton Musgrave of North Ogden celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
They met in ninth grade at a junior high school dance. They were married May 28, 1953, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
Their children and their spouses are Julie and David Sanders, Dan and Me’Chel Musgrave, Jed and Lana Musgrave, Matt and Jana Musgrave, and Melanie and Jefferson Judd. They have 20 grandchildren, nine grandchildren-in-laws and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
They have enjoyed supporting every family member.
He spent his life in school, either learning or teaching. He enjoyed being a professor at Weber State University. He also worked some odd jobs along the way. He was employed hoeing beets, moving furniture, and putting 300-pound blocks of ice on trains before refrigerated cars were invented.
She spent her life taking care of others. She enjoys cooking, sewing, helping those who seek her advice and laughing at her husband’s jokes even though she has heard them many times. She also worked many jobs. She was employed at the Weber Adult Probation Department, North Ogden Junior High School and the Weber County Recorder’s Office.
They say some of their adventures in life were experienced willingly and others not so willingly — but they have survived them all.
When recently asked the secret to staying married for 60 years, they said, “Neither of us wanted to get divorced at the same time.”
