OGDEN -- A lecture on an introduction to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints History Library will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ogden Family Search Library, at 539 24th St. in Ogden. The lecture will be in Room 12 of the library.

Presenter Jay G. Burrup will speak on the purposes of the library, and discuss "the remarkable and unique historical record sources it offers," event organizers said.

The library's holdings are a treasure trove for those interested in LDS Church history, who have LDS ancestry or who are compiling histories of the branch, ward stake, district or mission.

Burrup, of West Valley City, is a native of Downey, Idaho, and a descendent of early LDS settlers. Burrup graduated from BYU with a bachelor of science degree in history and a master of science degree in library and information science.
