The editorial of June 8, “Vote ‘no’ on library bond,” left me feeling like the editorial staff had not listened to the in-depth proposal of the library bond project in great enough detail. It’s recommendation not to build new libraries assumes that libraries are on the verge of distinction, and that is not the case at all.
The citizens at Roy are very under-served by their current library.
As a taxpayer, I also want the North Ogden branch to be completed since I invested the funds to make that facility fully functional. Doing these multiple projects all at once, makes the most business sense, and saves money in the long-run.
Weber County citizens who know the value of libraries will vote ‘yes’ on the bond because we have people to serve now, not to speculate about how these spaces will have no purpose in the future. Please vote ‘yes’ on this bond.
