Rodney Roy Lemon was born to Helen Jane Harding and Roy Glen Lemon on September 25, 1952 in Brigham City, Utah and passed away peacefully from esophageal cancer at his home in Orem, Utah on June 13, 2013.
Rod spent his youth playing baseball, waterskiing, scouting (earning his Eagle scout when he was just 14!) and working on the family farm in Willard, Utah. Rod loved education and spent his young adult life studying biology and wildlife at USU and BYU. Earning his Master's degree Suma Cum Laude from BYU in 1981, Rod immediately began working for the Bureau of Land Management and continued working with wildlife and the outdoors. He later turned his career focus to chemistry, and worked as a chemist on many levels throughout the remainder of his life.
Rod spent his life learning and loved to share what he had discovered with his family and friends. Whether with his children or his high priest group, Rod loved to share his study and insights into the gospel of Jesus Christ most of all. He also loved the outdoors. Whether he was camping, hiking or gardening in his own backyard, he loved being around anything green...or aviatic.
Rod is survived by the children from his first marriage to Liz Matthews - Steevun, Bryun, Mishel, Loree and Jenifer and his wife Constance Stubbs Blair and their children - Anna, David, Chip, Rebecca, Jay, Beth, and Daniel.
Rod's love of learning and the seeds of faith he planted will continue to bring forth fruit in the lives of his 12 children and 36 grandchildren for generations to come. We love you, dad!
