Carmen Baldwin Sholly of South Ogden celebrated her 90th birthday with family and close friends at a party held in her honor on June 8.
She was born on June 8, 1923, in Brawder, Ky., a daughter of William and Goldie Ashby Baldwin. She was educated in Kentucky and baptized in the Baptist Church.
She moved to Chicago, where she met and married William P. Sholly. They moved to Ogden and raised their family.
She has enjoyed playing bingo, taking bus trips to Wendover and Mesquite with her friends, and feeding and watching birds. She enjoys old movies and country music.
Her children and spouses are Darryl Sholly (deceased); Sharon Bingham, Salt Lake City; Rick and Diane Jones, West Haven; Bill and Cindy Sholly, South Ogden; Reita MacDonald, West Point; Phillip and Julie Sholly, Uintah; and Blake and Linda Miner, Pell City, Ala. She has 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She says she cherishes each member of her family and treasures the abundance of memories she has with them.
