Hyrum H. Peterson of North Ogden celebrated his 80th birthday with a family party on Saturday, June 15.
He was born on June 13, 1933, in Providence to Hyrum Howard and Relia Peterson. He married Marie Mansfield on Sept. 26, 1952, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. She died on Aug. 30, 2000.
He then married Helen H. Lewis on Nov. 15, 2003.
He grew up in Malad, Idaho, graduating from Malad High School in 1951. He served two years in the U.S. Army. He then attended Utah State University and Weber State College. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, Marquart, Amalgamated Sugar Co., and retired from ATK in 1998.
He has served in many church callings, working with the youth being one of his favorites. He has most enjoyed traveling Utah with family and friends in his motor home and on his ATV.
Their children and their spouses are Curtis and Lori Peterson, Clint and Linnae Peterson, Heidi and Dan Novak, and Chris and Linda Peterson.
He has 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
