Lora Gaye Carver Bybee of Uintah will celebrate her 80th birthday in July when all her family can be together.
She was born on June 16, 1933, in Ogden to Royal G. and Ivy Skeen Carver. She was raised in Plain City with her brother and sisters: Dr. R. Thair Carver, Ivy June Beesley and Nadine Taggart. She is a graduate of Weber High School. She played violin in the school orchestra, second through 12th grade. She attended Utah State University for a short time, and was employed by Ogden City Board of Education.
She married Calvin R. Bybee on Dec. 10, 1954, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
She was a stay-at-home mom until her last child started school. She worked for Weber County School District and Bell Photographers for 29 years, retiring June 1, 2012.
A member of the LDS Church, Uintah 1st Ward, she served as a Primary teacher, played the piano for Primary and Relief Society and was ward organist for more than 40 years.
Throughout the years, she enjoyed playing softball and watching her children and grandchildren participate in school sports. She enjoyed music, cooking, sewing, quilting and camping with her family.
Her children and their spouses are Laurie Bybee, LeAnne Maycock, Brad and Becci Bybee, Kevin and Laura Bybee, Kelly and Jennifer Bybee, Chistopher and Tiffanie Bybee, and Jennifer Lee and Troy Miller. She has 24 grandchildren, one great-grandson and three granddaughters-in-law.
