I read Rev. Neal Humphrey's thoughtful and well-written column of May 29, "Boy Scouts have lost their way." It expressed his principles and thoughts in a well-organized, non-confrontational manner. He remained non-confrontational when he resigned his post with the BSA (June 5, "Davis pastor resigns from N. Utah Scout board"). This is in marked contrast to the recent letters accusing him of being hateful. These writers need to have some of the tolerance they so loudly espouse.
As far as boys in Scouts, why should young boys and teens have to announce their sexuality? Whether heterosexual or homosexual, it should just be kept under wraps.
So thank you, Rev. Humphrey. I am sure there are many people who do support you. It would be nice if they would write as well.
