PROVO -- The U.S. House has again approved a bill to let Brigham Young University purchase Y Mountain.
The Daily Herald reports the legislation was approved 397-1 on Monday evening, with Michigan Rep. Justin Amash as the lone 'no' vote.
The bill calls for BYU to pay for an appraisal of the land and then buy it at that price. BYU would also have to guarantee public access to the mountain.
The same bill passed the House last year but didn't come up for a vote in the Senate before the session adjourned.
BYU owns the lower half of the mountain that the Y sits on, but the bill would allow it to own the whole trail leading up to the Y.
