SYRACUSE — A city woman whose home was gutted by a May 24 fire got a chance to personally thank four workmen from Wasatch Valley Excavation who helped save her and some of her property.
A tearful Shirley Moss hugged and thanked Beau Montgomery, Bill Bundy and Steve and Jason Ewing who were honored during a recent city council meeting.
The four were working across the street from the Moss home, at 2904 South and 2000 West, when they saw flames coming out of the home. They ran over and woke Moss, who was asleep on the couch, and got her out of the home. They also saved several vehicles before firefighters arrived.
Moss called the four workmen “guardian angels” and had her grandchildren give each a personal plaque with a description of our hero on each.
