HUNTSVILLE -- Weber Sheriff's Office Cpl. Mark Horton got an unusual call Sunday afternoon from Bluff's Marina at Pineview Reservoir. He arrived on the scene to find a car fully submerged.
A young couple were spending the day at Pineview with a rented jet ski. After returning the jet ski, the woman, 23, who was the owner of the car, drove onto the water ramp to retrieve some belongings.
However, she forgot to put on the parking brake, leaving the car to roll into the reservoir. Before it sank, the woman desperately tried to hold onto the red Nissan Infiniti. Luckily, Horton was already nearby.
"It's lucky for them I was around. I was in one of three trucks that have a winch," said Horton, who was in a sheriff's search and rescue truck.
Unfortunately for the woman, the car was considered totaled.
