Doug and Afton Andrews of West Haven were married June 21, 1963, in Ogden. They will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary later this year by taking a trip to the East Coast.
He was born May 22, 1942, to LaVon Averett and Douglas L. Andrews. He was a journeyman sheet metal worker from Local No. 312. He worked in 38 states building K-Mart stores and other large industrial buildings, retiring in 2000. He enjoys hunting, fishing and playing golf with his brothers, family and friends
She was born Aug. 30, 1943, to Jennie Adella Sessions and Howard N. Sorensen. She graduated from Weber High School. She worked at Defense Depot Ogden and the Internal Revenue Service, retiring after 36 years. She is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in many callings. She enjoys going to the temple with her friends once a week, cooking, decorating wedding cakes, crafts, traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Snowbirds, they enjoy traveling to warm places in the winter, including Yuma, Ariz. They enjoy their summers at their home in Star Valley, Wyo.
Their children and spouses are Kent Andrews, Scott and Amy Kenley, Tara Nelson, and Ryan and Wendy Andrews. They have 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
