Marcus graduated from Box Elder High School in 1945. After high school graduation he joined the United States Navy and earned the rank of Seaman First Class. He later joined the United States Army Reserves as an Artillery Captain and served for 20 years.Marcus earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from Utah State University and a minor in Biology. He taught school in Thatcher, Utah for two years, and then at Bear River Junior High School in Garland from 1956 until his retirement in 1983.GARLAND – Marcus Eli Lee, 86, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at McKay Dee Hospital. He was born on June 14, 1927 in Black Pine, Idaho the son of John A. and Maggie Jensen Lee. He married LaRee Rhodes on August 19, 1960 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held various callings. Marcus spent many summers harvesting wheat fields for local farmers. He loved playing Checkers and was always up to beating you at the game. He was an avid reader, a history buff, and enjoyed doing Geneology. This knowledge made for great conversation.

Surviving are his daughters, Chris (Doug) Mares, Ashland, Oregon; Becki (Willy) Hebert, Meridian Idaho; and his sons, Scott Lee, Garland, Utah and David (Nancy) Lee, Spanish Fork, Utah. Grandchildren: Amy Mares Ebner, Brian Mares, Jake Hebert, Jennifer Hebert, Justin Lee and Jessica Lee. Great Grandchildren: Haley, Hannah and Heather Ebner.

He is preceded in death by his sisters; Roma, Cora, Miriam and Viola, and brothers, Ellis and Delbert.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Garland 5th Ward Chapel, 175 South Main, Garland, Utah. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rudd Funeral Home, 1234 South Main, Garland, Utah and from 9:30 to 10:30 on Wednesday at the church.
