Carl C. Martin, age 87, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2013 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on January 4, 1926 in Bell City, California to John Talmadef Martin and Alma Lee Farmer. Carl married Patricia May Leonard in Yucaipa California in 1949 or 50 before he left for active duty in Korea.
Carl honorably served our country by serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Army in the Korean Conflict. During most of his life, Carl worked as a machinist and in Quality Control in the Aircraft industry and the Nuclear Power Industry. His interests in life included golf, USC Football, fast cars, and motorcycles. He loved to argue Sports and Politics with anyone who had the time or inclination. Carl was very passionate about life and the people in his life, it could be said he lived, loved, fought and played with passion and gusto all his life. He will be missed.
Carl is survived by his children, Karen, Steven, Leslie, and Danielle; Grandchildren, John and Briana Gracey, Cliff Martin and Becky Martin Larez, Jeffery and Lisbeth Crump and Tiffany Mitchell and his great grandchildren Simon Crump, Carl Larez Jr, Elizabeth Larez, Marcus Larez and Tifany Martin
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Martin Gracey, and granddaughter Laura Gracey.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Chancellor Gardens, located at 1425 S. 1500 E. in Clearfield, UT on July 3rd, 2013 at 3:30 pm. Interment and Veterans Honors will be at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park located at 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd., Bluffdale, UT at a future date to be determined.
