I don't understand how the people of Weber county could approve a $45 million bond to build one new library and repair several others. The biggest shocker here is that it will cost 23 million to build a new one. For the life of me I cannot understand how it could cost $23 million to build one library and $16 million to repair another. A library is not anything special, it's a typical building with walls, heating and air, with a lot of shelves for books and a few computers. There's nothing special that I can see to justify the cost.
Now that we are stuck with this bond let's hope those responsible can get a better bid to build it. I guess I'll have to use my furlough pay to pay the increase in my property tax.
Oh, by the way it's not the local government or my responsibility to provide Internet for everyone to use.
