The North Ogden City Council starts each meeting with the pledge of allegiance. The pledge ends with the words "justice for all."
There cannot be justice in this North Ogden residential neighborhood. The city has not, cannot, and will not admit that allowing Mr. Baguley's commercial business here is wrong (June 12, "Auto repair business to remain in N. Ogden home garage," and June 4, "North Ogden neighborhood still divided over garage").
During the May 28, 2013 meeting, the city council set a document submission deadline of June 4, 2013. The "city" sent 19 emails, including documents dated June 6, 2013. Those obeying rules did not reply to the emails assuming the "city" would not accept replies after the June 4 deadline. Wrong: The "city" continued accepting documents for the council until at least June 9.
During the June 11 North Ogden City Council meeting, appellants who spoke were harassed and ridiculed by the audience and council. The mayor effectively told appellants to sit down and shut-up. The mayor asked hecklers to stop. They did not. The city's presiding authority did not call out the individuals nor did he take any action to remove disturbers from the meeting. The mayor's failure to establish rules and maintain decorum during the meeting is reprehensible.
During the June 11, 2013 North Ogden City Council meeting, Mr. Bigler suggested that the neighborhood needs to heal. "Healing" means those affected by Tom's Auto Repair, LLC need to sit down and shut up. Mr. Bigler wants to "grandfather" Tom Auto Repair guaranteeing it stays in this neighborhood forever.
Truth is established by the mouth of "two or three witnesses." There are five witnesses against Tom's Auto Repair, LLC. All have been ridiculed during city meetings, in the press, and on the Internet. Four have been, are, and will continue to be subjected to flagrant violations of the city's home occupation ordinance designed to protect their property rights. Violations condoned and promoted by the "city."
How can there be justice if the "city" won't keep or enforce its own rules? Shame on North Ogden city!
