Bill and Diane Barker of Kaysville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and program at the Maddox Lodge.
They were married on June 19, 1953, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
Born in Boulder City, Nev., to Bazil and Hazel Barker, he graduated from Logan High School. Following high school, he served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He also served a part-time mission during his military service in Olathe, Kan. He later graduated from Utah State University and taught vocational automotive education at Clearfield High School for 27 years. He retired from teaching in 1993.
Born in Logan to George and Lucile Johnson, she was raised in Beaver Dam. She attended Bear River High School and graduated from Logan High School. She enjoys reading and has enjoyed many years of sewing and quilting. She says her greatest joy has been serving her family.
Both have served in many church callings on the ward and stake levels. Since retirement, they served as ordinance workers in the Bountiful Temple and a church education mission in Silver City, N.M.
Their children and spouses are Gary Barker, Steven and Cheryl Barker, Brian and Debbie Barker, Brian and Julie Wall, and Dean and Jana Maw.
They have 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
