Officers went to a home in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy on June 20 after a woman called 911 to say her husband was having a psychotic episode and beating woman in the house with a golf club.
Police found Cuillard with blood on his pants and shirt. They discovered a silver golf club in the bedroom nearby the body of 85-year-old Arla "Caroline" Christensen.
Witnesses say Cuillard locked himself in the room while beating Christensen so nobody could stop him.
