FAIRFIELD -- A Layton man was accidently shot during a private training exercise in Utah County on Tuesday morning.
Utah County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the Firearms Application Response Management facility after reports of an accidental shooting.
The 33-year-old man was injured after his handgun discharged while holstering it. A round struck the victim above the right knee and exited above his right ankle.
The man was taken via ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray with injuries that were not life-threatening. He was attending a class presented by Ryker Defense.
