CLEARFIELD -- High winds and rain are the culprits for a large-scale power outage in the Clearfield area.
About 3,000 customers were without power Saturday night after high winds knocked power lines down at 800 North and 2300 West around 7:20 p.m.
Rocky Mountain Power was able to get power restored within the hour. However, another power outage occurred ater a power pole caught fire, most likely due to lightning or water seeping into the components, causing them to short out.
As of 9 p.m., about 150 customers were still without power.
