PLEASANT VIEW -- It's time for developers who have old and outstanding accounts due the city to pay up.
City Recorder Laurie Hellstrom said this applies to any accounts more than 150 days old, and the city plans to give them one last notice before sending them to collections.
Mayor Doug Clifford noted, "Some of these are really old."
The problem could also be handled by the city attorney, said Councilman Toby Mileski. He said he is not in favor of giving a collection company 30 percent of the amount collected.
Either way, council members decided it's time for the developers with outstanding debt to pay up.
The city will be sending out certified letters and collecting the long-overdue funds, either through a collection agency or through the city attorney.
